The great thing about life is the adventure. Students who have experienced Youth Tour walk away excited, energized…“changed.”

Sheila FrahmYou never know how things are going to turn out or what long-term impact the Electric Cooperative Youth Tour will have on your life.

Consider the case of a Kansas girl, representing Great Plains Electric Co-op (now Midwest Energy), who went on the Youth Tour in 1962. She recalled from her trip that, “Washington rubbed off on me, nudging my enthusiasm to public service.”

It certainly did! That high school junior from Kansas, Sheila Frahm, would later become the Lieutenant Governor from Kansas. She was then appointed to the United States Senate in June, 1996, finishing the term of Senator Robert Dole who resigned to run for president.

We're confident that you will go on to do great things. Please keep in touch and let us know what you are doing now. If you are ever in the Washington, D.C. area, please let us know. Maybe there is a way to connect you with the Youth Tour or Youth Leadership Council.
